Description:

This flat is discreetly nestled within a 1930’s built, 3 storey brick terraced building with shops at ground floor level. Whilst searching historic maps of the area, it was discovered that the end of the terrace where the flat is situated, was “damaged beyond repair” [1] during WWII and subsequently rebuilt to match the original building, in the late 1950’s. It’s believed that the property was last refurbished in the late 1990’s, and as such, had fallen into a state of disrepair.

The recent refurbishment of the property, involved a total reconfiguration of the kitchen and living spaces & the relocation of a number of other walls & openings, to minimise circulation space & maximise useable space. Tall ceilings afforded the opportunity to hide all electrical and plumbing services into a new dropped ceiling. Almost all internal surfaces have been replaced with a new material palette of mixed hard-woods, lacquered Steel, metro tiles & Georgian glass. Though the flat is moderately sized at only 64 SqM, the space feels light, airy and relaxed.
